Peach 'Contender'

Contender Peach produces large fruits that have a small pit and excellent red skin color. Great for canning and fresh use. This variety has also been found to be very cold-hardy and has survived in northern growing areas where other peach varieties fail. Self-pollinates, pink blossoms in spring, and changes foliage color from dark green to deep yellow in the autumn. As a bonus, Contender has luscious, juicy fruit in the summer.  The peach flesh is bright yellow, firm, and delicious, eaten fresh or preserved for out-of-season treats and baked goods.
